Holon launches their innovation fund in Europe for global investors
- Holon Global Investments (Holon) announced the official launch of the Holon Photon Fund (open-ended fund in SICAV) in Europe, for European and Latin American investors
- The Fund enables Holon’s strategic partners and investors to future-proof returns through diversifying asset allocation across innovation
Europe, February 2021 — Holon launches the Holon Photon Fund (open-ended fund in SICAV) in Europe as a Professional Investor Fund for European and Latin American investors who are looking for access to innovation and disruption opportunities. The SICAV structure is a common publicly-traded open-end European investment fund that draws on the investment strategy of the Australian Holon Photon Fund.
With an investment philosophy that is evolutionary, the Fund will keep pace with the pace of change to benefit from digital disruption (not suffer from it). Under this framework, innovation ranks as the primary driver of wealth creation and is a key dimension of the portfolio’s construction.
Director of Distribution and Structuring, Felipe Martin, together with the support of Astrada Financial (SICAV plc), pioneered the partnership which now makes Holon a truly global player.
There is a clear parallel between Australian, European and Latin American markets, with all regions experiencing lagging returns. With few Mega Caps on local exchanges, there is a need to gain exposure to these strong businesses today and future-proof returns through investing in disruptive new business models. While some traditional funds are investing in Mega Caps, most are not across the potential of accelerating innovation (particularly digitalisation), nor adding them to portfolios.
The Australian Holon Photon Fund that commenced in July 2019 has strongly outperformed its benchmark since inception. When asked what is the secret to the outperformance, Heath Behncke, Holon Co-founder & Portfolio Manager commented:
“The performance continues to validate our belief that investing in innovative leaders building global digital businesses is the key to future wealth creation”
The global pandemic sped-up digital transformation, forcing people to work, shop and socialise online. While we benefit as users, the majority of the world’s population are not benefiting as investors.
“There is strong alignment with Astrada Financial and Holon – they get it, they are progressive and actively seeking to solve a fundamental issue for their clients. This is an important strategic partnership for both of us, and we’ll benefit from their reputation and extensive networks.” Felipe Martin, Holon.
The Astrada Financial proposition is centered around diversification and responsiveness. This partnership delivers on their commitment to their investors.
“We have a global mindset, now more than ever we need to offer global innovation opportunities to our investors. Through the SICAV Holon Photon Fund we access the calibre of an Australian grade investment strategy managed by a team who understand how to tap into innovation.” Luis Ortolà, Founder & Portfolio Manager, Astrada.
The Fund is now open to sophisticated investors, HNW investors and family offices throughout Europe and Latin America.
This move was a key milestone for Holon to operate globally and is another example of a great Australian export to watch.
Holon is a next generation fund manager designing the core investment portfolios and platforms of the future. A different wealth creation strategy and a different business model to create and protect wealth is needed at a time when the pace of change is astonishing. We believe innovation drives wealth creation, and everyone should have access to investing in the best companies globally that are driving innovation today, tomorrow and in the future.
