It took humankind until 2011 to generate 1 ZB of data. We predict that figure to reach almost 75,000 ZB by 2040.
Part 4 looks at Holon’s forecasts for data storage over the next two decades, walking the reader through the new technology platforms that will accelerate our annual dataset. While much of the focus will be on the two largest data generation sources, autonomous vehicles and IoT devices, we will also briefly outline our thoughts on other, new platforms including AI.
